Piano Battaglia – Winter sports

Skiing in the heart of Sicily? Sure! Piano Battaglia, second ski resort of Sicily, is the right place if you want to practice skiing and winter sports.
Piano Battaglia is a hamlet of Petralia Sottana, set in the Madonie chain at about 1600 meters A.S.L. in a wide karst valley.
The resort was developed between the Fifties and the Seventies with many alpine-style villas.
The site is home to facilities for winter sports (ski lifts) and it is a popular tourist resort, with different accommodations and a characteristic small church dedicated to Our Lady of the Snows.
Piano Battaglia, heart of the Madonie’s Park, is inserted in a wonderful natural setting, surrounded by an ancient beech forest. It is a place suitable for active, natural and scientific tourism.
